Bible Scroll – Privacy Policy

Summary

Bible Scroll has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. We do not collect, sell or share personal data. Your likes, saved verses, highlights, reflections and settings are stored only on your device.

Data stored on your device

• Liked, saved and highlighted verses, private reflection notes, watched stories and which feed posts you have seen (used to show new content first).
• Preferences: Bible translation, theme, text size, music on/off and volume, video sound, daily-verse notification time.
• Cached content: the latest content list and downloaded videos/images/music, so the app works offline. The cache is limited in size and is cleared automatically.
• A local diagnostics log of errors (for example "video failed to load"). It never leaves your device unless you choose Settings → Diagnostics log → Share.

Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage deletes all of this data.

Network requests

The app downloads Bible videos, images, music and a content list from bible-scroll-content.pages.dev (hosted on Cloudflare Pages). These are ordinary HTTPS requests with no identifiers, cookies or account information. Like any web host, Cloudflare may briefly process your IP address and basic request data to deliver the files and protect against abuse; see Cloudflare's privacy policy. The app does not contact any other server.

Permissions

• Notifications (optional) – only for the daily verse reminder you turn on. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device.
• Run at startup – so scheduled daily-verse reminders survive a reboot.
• Foreground media playback – so background music can keep playing with a media notification you can pause.
• Internet – to download hosted content.

Narration

Story narration uses your device's built-in text-to-speech engine. Bible Scroll does not record audio.

Sharing

When you tap Share, the verse text is handed to the app you pick using Android's share sheet. Nothing is sent by us.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.

Content licences

Bundled Bible texts are in the public domain. Music and sound effects are original and dedicated to the public domain (CC0); see CREDITS.txt.

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. For questions, please use the developer contact email shown on the app's Google Play listing.
